Recognition Celebration

 

Mark your calendar for the 2011 CROP Hunger Walk Recognition Event. This event celebrates the many accomplishments of our recruiters, walkers, volunteers and participating churches and organizations. Please plan to attend Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at St. John's Baptist Church.

Be sure to submit your nominations for the Sam Ryburn, Weenie Daniel and Volunteer Awards by December 16, 2011. These awards recognition the special contribution of individuals who have helped make the Walk a success.

The "Sam Ryburn Walker" award honors Charlottean Sam Ryburn who was the nation's highest CROP Hunger Walk fundraiser until his death in 2000. The award is given in recognition of the individual who has shown extraordinary spirit and dedication to inspire others in the fight against hunger.

The "Weenie Daniel" award honors Francis "Weenie" Daniel who served as the Church World Service/CROP Organizer for 15 years. This award is given in recognition of the individual who best exemplifies her enduring selfless commitment and service to the Greater Charlotte CROP Hunger Walk.

The Volunteer award will be awarded to the individual who has gone above and beyond in their service to help out on Walk Day.
